a) Duty to provide work and remuneration

The duty to remunerate is a fundamental term of employment which is always contained in the contract of employment. In the unusual event that there is no express term on remuneration in the contract, there will be an implied terms to provide the employee with reasonable remuneration.

In cases where the employee's remuneration is dependent upon the number of working hours or work pieces, there could also be an implied duty on the employer's part to provide sufficient work to the employee to earn a reasonable wage.
